About Our University

Established on August 23, 1958, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) is named after the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar. The university is located in the historic city of Aurangabad, Maharashtra, and has been a beacon of higher education and social transformation in the Marathwada region for over six decades.

BAMU's mission is to provide inclusive, quality education that empowers students from diverse backgrounds. Admissions

BAMU follows a transparent admission process based on merit and reservation policies of the Government of Maharashtra. Admissions are conducted through both entrance examinations and direct merit-based selection.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Undergraduate Programs: 10+2 or equivalent with minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved categories)
  • Postgraduate Programs: Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks
  • Ph.D. Programs: Master's degree with minimum 55% marks and qualifying UGC-NET/JRF or university entrance test
  • Relaxation in minimum marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per government norms
